The final conference of the project "PRISMA - Paths of social inclusion, mediation and territorial aggregation" will be held on Thursday 18 January 2024 at 10 a.m., at the Palazzo Ducale of Lucca. The project is coordinated by the Prefettura di Lucca in collaboration with the Sant'Anna School and the I.S.I. Carlo Piaggia of Viareggio and the support of the UST Ufficio IX of Lucca and Massa Carrara. The project aims to strengthen the governance of the migration phenomenon in the territory with specific reference to the activities of reception, inclusion and integration of foreign citizens.
Various activities were implemented and aimed at: strengthening inter-institutional cooperation in the area; strengthening the skills of operators and actors involved; preparing actions to involve the population through moments of territorial animation and sports events.

More specifically, the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna organised three high-level training courses and a workshop on mediation. The Scuola Sant'Anna also conducted research on the territory aimed in particular at improving the cognitive processes on the management of immigration and access to services by the foreign population, with particular attention to the internal areas of the Province of Lucca.

"This is an articulated and composite project," explains Francesca Biondi Dal Monte, lecturer in constitutional law and project coordinator for the Scuola Sant'Anna, "that has made it possible to act on the management of immigration in the territory of the Province of Lucca, strengthening the capacity of administrations and the third sector to offer answers to the needs of the foreign population present.
In line with the objectives of the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration, 'this type of project makes it possible to strengthen the capacity building of public administrations and lay the foundations for long-term strategies and collaborations,' concludes Francesca Biondi Dal Monte.
